Viewers watching the football game via Internet can find out about the goal in the Poland-Argentina match in advance thanks to the shouts of neighbours who have terrestrial TV. The Wirtualnemedia.pl research, conducted during the Poland-Argentina game, shows that the Player.pl, powered by Redge Media, scored the best latency score.
The official broadcaster of the 2022 World Cup in Poland was Telewizja Polska S.A (TVP) covering channels like TVP1 or TVP Sport.
Canal+ online, which broadcasts many TVP1 games of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, scored almost 21 seconds of delay in relation to terrestrial television. In the application for subscribers of the Vectra cable network (TV Smart GO) it was nearly 26 seconds. In TVP GO the latency was 12.5 seconds. The delay of the TVP Sport signal in the application of this channel is slightly larger, almost 26 seconds. In Player, TVN’s delay compared to the station’s terrestrial broadcast is less than 8 seconds. In Polsat Box Go, Polsat’s delay was 13.5 seconds. The delay of the Impreza24 station was very similar.
