Could you share some of the challenges you faced during your internship and how they impacted your development?

A significant challenge during my internship was automating the process of recalculating the validity of display schedules. What initially seemed like a straightforward task turned out to require extensive changes. This endeavour required considerable back-end programming and database skills. With the support of my colleagues, I was able to overcome this. On reflection, I realized that it wasn’t as daunting as it first seemed. This experience taught me not to shy away from challenges, but to face them with confidence.

Is there a particular project or situation that has left a lasting impression on you?

I was particularly impressed by the project supporting the player.pl website. Discovering the scale of its traffic was both astonishing and exhilarating.

What new skills did you acquire during your internship and how did they enhance your professional development?

During my internship, I acquired a number of technical skills related to programming and IT project management. I also improved my ability to organize work efficiently and manage my time effectively.

Could you describe your cooperation with other team members and any lessons you’ve learned?

Working with my fellow team members proved to be an invaluable learning experience. I gained insights into effective problem-solving and knowledge sharing. The most important lesson I took away from this collaboration is the crucial role of teamwork in the success of a project and the importance of valuing and considering the opinions of others.

Was there a project you have worked on that was particularly important to you or the company? If so, why?

Certainly, the BookmarkDB project was particularly significant. It aimed to optimize and streamline the retrieval of content from the ‘favourites’ or ‘recently viewed’ sections. This experience was invaluable as it allowed me to witness the entire development process from the beginning.

Was there anything surprising during your internship?

I was really surprised by the sheer size of the application I was working on. Every code change required careful analysis to ensure that it didn’t accidentally affect unrelated functionality that I hadn’t intended to change.

Yes, I was fortunate to have experienced colleagues as mentors. Their guidance significantly accelerated my professional growth and provided alternative perspectives on the same challenges.

Shortly after my induction, I volunteered to research a new topic that the team had not previously explored. Despite my initial inexperience in this area, I quickly gained significant expertise. I’m glad I had the opportunity to educate myself and contribute to the growth of the project in this unfamiliar area, which benefited both myself and the team.

During my internship with the R&D team, I contributed to an innovative project aimed at improving the performance of the company’s existing products. The project’s reliance on various algorithms and AI models perfectly matched my interests and allowed me to gain practical insights and knowledge.

Despite my intern status, I was given interesting and educational tasks that broadened my skills and allowed me to provide valuable assistance to the team. In addition, the team’s exceptional cohesion and willingness to support newcomers exceeded my expectations.

I joined the team at the same time as another colleague and together we tackled the initiation and implementation of the project. Although we had extensive written guidelines, the guidance and support of senior team members were crucial. Having regular conversations with team members allowed me to deepen my understanding of the project and gain insight into the company’s culture and relationships. I also discovered shared hobbies and interesting facts about my colleagues, which enhanced my overall experience.

One of my assigned tasks was to automate a repetitive and time-consuming process. After thorough research, I proposed a solution that was approved by the team members. The implemented solution may also prove beneficial to other teams within the company.

In the IT department, I acquired many tools and established effective working habits. The task allocation system enabled me to manage my time efficiently by allowing me to prioritize tasks as needed. Overall, the internship significantly improved my interpersonal, IT and time management skills.
